Photo Updates Dearest Mother, I heard you wanted some photos. So I'll throw some up and explain them in glorious detail so as to inform you as to the goings-on as of late. Here it goes!
Here I am with Megan. She has many more interesting photos of her weekend here. This was stealthily taken by Cli as the two of us are putting our stuff into the back of Patricia's new car. Megan made me a cake for my half birthday-- this is something she has managed to do every year since college began so it's kind of an impressive feat I always see her this time of year.
This is beer can chicken-- one of the more interesting aspects of our Superbowl party. Greg made it and apparently it's a Southern thing. I acted like I knew what he was talking about when he brought the idea up of making it but really I hadn't a clue as to what beer can chicken was. Turns out, it's pretty good.
Here I am living the cliché young person's dream of traveling Europe by rail. Not only did I add to the romanticism of it all by doing it all by my lonesome but I also had a charming encounter with a Czech man at the train station. A man who had the heavy scent of alcohol on his breath. A man with whom I briefly danced. Despite the rather pointed language barrier, we discussed soccer and also he managed to convey to me via miming that I ought to be mindful of pickpockets. Furthermore, I had not shaved in quite some time. About five days later, I would get myself the hot towel shave. Which, as I've said before, was incroyable!
I at last found Dad and then we went to Königstein and had a rockin' good time. On the way, I took this wonderful photo. It's the only one of us together (aside from one of our shadows) so cherish it.
Dresden by night. This was after we got out of the museum where I saw those cherubs It was a pretty nice city. Beat you to it!
The morning before I biked out to Paddy Kiely's, I had the idea for french toast. Granted, I had the idea a few days ago but by the time it got time to make it it was all Greg. so he made me a professional batch of french toast before I cycled off to the airport to meet the good doctor.
Here's some of the group at Trinity. Interesting to note that this gold globe-looking thing is the same one as the one featured in the Vatican museum. Same guy did it and everything-- just a smaller one. I'm wearing shorts. Because I can!!!
Spotting an opportunity for self-promotion, I climbed atop the cooperage exhibit. See it?
Bringing you up to last night (March 4th), Laura is still around. We went out to a pub for a few drinks. Contrary to the photo, we're both really enjoying ourselves and it's been great having her here. That's all for now-- I have a record two birthdays to celebrate in one night so I must fly. See you Modelling Sitting in Soviet history right now. Don't worry, the professor is having A/V problems at present so I'm not missing anything in particular. I have opted to change the header image and accompanying font. Because them dudes are a classy bunch. Baby Steps I determined after much meditation that what is holding me back in putting up this website is that I am trying to think of several different pages at once. This is problematic as it requires me to sit around agonizing-- like I do-- over what the hell to create. Instead, I have entered myself into a twelve-step web author rehabilitation program. Step one is to do one thing well. I will try and stay on step one for a while. Then I'll worry about that comprehensive medical guide and the recipe database. Maybe. Or maybe I'll do something else. Should I do something else? Mmm. Maybe. Floating above Germany I am. right now. They should really just drop me off here as that's where I'm going but-- as this is highly dangerous for a plethora of reasons-- I must land in Prague before either meeting getting a ride (via family) or hopping on a train to Germany. I prefer the first as I would rather not deal with the changing of money and the protraction of this long day of traveling but I suppose I'm not in much of a position to change it. The Pressure is Rising Is that actually a phrase? Scientifically speaking, I don't really envision pressure itself moving in one direction or another. But I know it would be correct to say the gears are turning and I hope that soon this website will change from the slow simmer at which it rests right now and begin to boil over into a cacophany of creative bubbles, running down the side of my digital pot to sizzle onto the medium-high heat stovetop of the world wide web. Packed up some more bags today as well. I forgot I was supposed to bike along La Jolla Scenic Dr. but eh, I'll do it tomorrow. Or something. It's a Good Day for a Wednesday Well, now that all the good TV is over I have to waste my time through some other sort of endeavor. While this comes as a disappointment as both the season finales of my two favorite Fox shows (neither of which being American Idol) were certainly underwhelming, the finales of Heroes and Lost were great. Hopefully this will be the last I ever mention TV on this sort of forum. It's bordering on pathetic and makes me feel like some sort of blogger. This May Not Stay for Long. I just established a connection using Macromedia Contribute. I am seeing how this effects my page. In the meantime, I suggest each and every one of you reflect on how beautiful tonight's Game Six between the Warriors and the Mavericks was. Simply splendid. Em, I say, Sound Engineer? Can you add Reverb? I attended Concert Coexist this evening and I heard the members of one of the acts say this (and, yes, I'm paraphrasing): "Whenever we perform in a venue such as this we are able to do the sound check before the audience arrives-- we don't usually have the audience in front of us at this point. So, just pretend that you're not here." |
